Description:
The ATR (All Terrain Robot) is a robotic vehicle that can be interchanged between three various designs (shown left) as displayed. The ATR originally uses a wired remote to the vehicle, with the remote housing the power supply of four AA batteries. Using a picaxe board that is attached to the product it is possible to use a remote that has been programmed to send messages to an infrared receiver and therefore control the system wirelessly.
Alterations i plan to make:
The alterations I plan to make to the system are:
- To build a picaxe wireless control system so that I can control the system through a Sony compatible universal remote.
- To control the system I will use a picaxe wireless remote system that was previously used for my tank project, re-purposed for the ATR system.
- Attach the picaxe board to a trailer.
- Use a rigid trailer connection system to allow the trailer to be towed behind.
